3. Chris Pratt and His Bearded Dragon, “Leo”
On August 31, 2018, Chris Pratt proudly celebrated “Take Your Lizard For A Walk Day” by posting a video to his Instagram profile taking his pet bearded dragon, Leo, out on a walk. Chris encourages other lizard owners to partake in the holiday, and says “Fact: in 2018 fewer than 1 in 12 DPL’s (domestic pet lizards) even have leashes and far fewer will even go on a nice relaxing walk with their owner. Demand action now.”

4. Nicolas Cage and His Personal Zoo
Nicolas Cage has spoken about his affinity for exotic pets throughout the years, giving a glimpse into several unique pets with whom he shares his home. Over the years, Nicolas Cage has shown a two headed snake named Harvey, a speckled Asian water monitor named Michael, and an amelanistic water monitor. In 2021/2022, the owner of Cage’s favorite pet store passed away, and Cage took in many animals that were not spoken for, leaving him with many fish and several species of turtle.

In 2021, Kim Kardashian shared a photo to her Instagram of her daughter North and their newest family member, Speed, the bearded dragon. Kim said that North and Speed “go everywhere together” and really are BFFs. The photo garnered criticism from reptile lovers worried about the ethics of dressing up the bearded dragon and “treating him like a doll”.
