Most reptiles benefit from infrared light to help them thermoregulate. Infrared light (IR-A, IR-B, IR-C) penetrates deep, warming their entire bodies. Reptiles benefit from a combination of IR-A, IR-B, and IR-C. The sun, or your basking spot bulb, produces the needed IR-A/B. IR-C is produced from stored heat on surfaces such as rocks, which is the reason many reptiles bask on rocks in the wild. Our Zen Cave includes a slate stone basking spot, which provides the IR-C your reptile needs.

My girl has never been happier! We have tried all sorts of basking spots and this is the only one she really seems to like. Usually it takes weeks for here to adjust to new piece of decor but not this one! She’s been basking on it and sleeping in it since day one. So glad I gave this product a try!
Functional and attractive- generously sized, with ample interior room for an adult bearded dragon. Not sure how my boy will like the slate basking platform, which should fit his body well enough; he’s taking one of his winter siestas and hasn’t come out to investigate yet. Still, I’m very pleased! It’s definitely bigger than I anticipated!
